The block above came from Zimbabwe and originally had a green leaf on it. Because there were wooden beads around it, we couldn’t use in the outer border of the quilt but attached the leaf on the quilt. These beads are made from a mutamba tree, with much meaning, which makes it perfect to frame the label on the back of the quilt.
